The last month has gone by in a blink. The last half of March remained pretty blustery, so indoor projects kept me busy. My saddle spent the winter on a sawbuck so it was time to build some saddle racks. I welded a bucket holder to each one, and a set of horseshoes to hang ropes/bridles from. Here they are all welded up with a coat of primer, and here’s the finished
One weekend, Brian came over to finish the wood pile before the warm weather brings the bugs out. Some pieces were so big we lifted them onto the splitter with the tractor! Finally we were done, and Brian greased the splitter before we put it away. Reno used the milder weather to work on her sunbathing.
A different weekend, Brian enlisted Dave to come help clean up an old fence line. As we trimmed the overgrown trees, we sorted everything into firewood and brush piles. When we were done, the old stone fence was once again exposed.
This past weekend was the first Riders Edge Class of the season at Vandervest Harley-Davidson in Peshtigo. Friday and Saturday were in the 70’s so I could ride my bike up there (in April!). But rain Sunday kept me from riding all 3 days. Here’s our “graduation” picture. Left to right are Eric, Anthony, Tory, Steve, Doug. Molly is in the center, and I’m the guy in the “instructor” shirt.
Snowmobiles are stored, motorcycle is started. The pastures are mostly cleaned up, the garden beds have been tilled once, and the lawn is thatched, so a lot of the routine spring chores are behind us already……..
