Considering the number of hits this page keeps getting, I guess I’m way past due to get

some new material out here.  As usual, Spring has been a rush to get everything in place before

the Summer growing season.  I doubled the size of the garden (don’t ask me why) and hauled

in two trailer loads of horse manure to help get it started (thanks Tom & Korry!).  The berry

patches we started last year are bearing strawberries this month, raspberries won’t be far

behind.  The blueberry plants are healthy, one even has some berries on it, but I guess they need another year to grow before they really produce much.

Planted a dozen or so trees, and the cool weather this Spring has them off to a good start.  Bunnies and Turkeys are everywhere, and the coons started raiding the woodpeckers suet cake this week.  There are also quite a few bluebirds this year.

Last Friday, my daughter Leigha got married.  Here’s Leigha and her husband Dan.  They just returned from their honeymoon in Florida. The wedding was at the botanical gardens in Green Bay.  It was a bit overcast, and there were even a few sprinkles, but the weather did cooperate for an outdoor wedding.

Doug and I managed to get an ATV ride in one Sunday.  We rode from Gillett to Townsend (about 80 miles round trip).  Locals told us the trail is opened up all the way to the U.P. now, so I guess we’ll have to do that when we take Brian along.

Hay has been keeping everyone busy this month.  Brian, Dave, and I did 400 bales last week for Reno, and we’re going to try for another 300 today.  We loaded 80 bales on my trailer by driving alongside the baler in the field.  Dave would toss them across to Brian, and he would stack.

Lots of projects started, so there’s lots of material to write about.  I’ll try not to go so long between updates.
