Text Box: Guess it’s pretty much the start of Fall now. The grass and leaves are drying up, getting
ready to turn color. Chores seem to turn more towards getting machinery and animals ready
for the cold weather. Some of that’s done around here, and some of it’s not.

Got the ATV out the other day, trailered up to Crivitz for the first time. Unloaded at the
BP station on the corner of Parkway and W. There’s plenty of parking there, and it’s handy to “top off” before you start. The trail started out covered with bark, turned to sand, and then to mud. A little bit of everything you could want to ride in, all in one trip. When I got near the Butler Rock area, I decided it was time to head back and found a bit of road construction, and then these moguls on the way. Later that evening I met Jodi and the girls to see the Budweiser Clydesdales at the Oconto County Fair. They travel in some pretty nice semis, and it looks pretty comfortable in there.

We also got in a little horseback riding with our friend Molly one weekend. Here’s Molly and Jodi preparing to cross the river up near Mountain. Jodi’s been working Dally on his driving, and we even got our first cart ride in the other nite. I’ll try to get a picture of that for the next “Dispatch”.

Another weekend, Jodi, Brit, and I took the 4-wheelers to Gillett. We rode South to Green Valley, and then North to her sister-in-laws in Breed. The weather was perfect. We had that re-match with the fish (see last “Dispatch”) and we won. 11 fish by about noon. Mostly Salmon, but also a Brown and 2 rainbows. That’s probably as good a way as any to wrap up my fishing season.

Brakes were pretty muck kaput on the beavertail, so I spent last week stripping the hubs/wheels to the axles, replacing the entire brake assembly on each wheel, and then painting everything prior to putting it back together. This week the Chevy is in the garage with a leaking intake manifold, and the TV broke. Oh well, no time to watch it anyway!

My buddy Doug is now the proud owner of a 2006 Rubicon, so you’ll probably start seeing him in some of the pics.
