Text Box: Wow! A month since I got a dispatch out….that pretty much says how crazy it’s been around
here. Two big projects underway are putting a new bottom in one of the bunk feeders and installing
gas/diesel pumps. The Chevy and TV are back in service, so are Jodi’s sump pump and water softener
which both acted up last week. Tried out my new chainsaw on Jodi’s woodpile, so we’ve got a pretty
good start on firewood for the year.

Taught my last motorcycle class for this season. The weather cooperated and gave us a beautiful Sunday cook-out. Mike had to flip bison burgers with a license plate, (someone forgot the flipper), and Brian fabricated this “buffet line” from things we had available in the garage. Jim and I posed with these two neat cakes one of our students brought. Had a really nice wrap-up to my teaching season. Also got in a 400 mile ride with Steve/Brian last Friday, the motorcycle riding season is getting short as well.

Jodi’s been working Dalsanto with the cart, and he’s getting pretty accustomed to it. We’ve spent a lot of time in the pasture, but yesterday was his first trip off the property….on the road. He did really well, even kept his head the first time a car passed him. A driving horse wears blinders, so that’s a pretty big deal.

Last Tuesday, Doug and I took that new 4-wheeler up to Pembine to break it in. He only had 8 miles on it when we took it off the trailer, so it needed to get dirty. It was overcast, but we had a pretty nice ride. Met a group of guys up from Waukesha, and enjoyed some fall color. The trails up there are well maintained, and there’s some nice scenery. We only explored a portion of them, about 60 miles. We’ll definitely be riding up there again.

Saturday, we took Alara and Dalsanto to a ride in Oconto Falls. We met our friend Molly to ride horseback, while Jodi’s girls/mom rode one of the wagons. Alandriss took most of the pics (that’s how I ended up in some of them for a change). Here’s the 3 amigo’s….Larry, Jodi, and Molly. We went thru an elk farm and the horses didn’t know what to make of them. Our group also paraded right down Main Street in Oconto Falls. The weather was great and it was a lot of fun.

I know….I need to update this more often. It gets dark so early now, maybe the short evenings will help!
